Alif Foundation recognizes the role of education can play in helping eradicate poverty and making community prosper.
45% of Pakistani and particularly FATA children are dropout of schools before class five. Girls’ attendance rates are lower than boys. The figure for colleges and universities reflect even lower participation rates similarly to gender disparities. Yet it is an established fact that women and girls are suffered disproportionately from the effect of poverty. Not only are they over-represented in the number of poor, but they also bear a larger share of the burden of poverty within the household.
Greater education opportunities will empower girls to earn for their families. It will also help gain them the respect that will lead to their inclusion in family and community decision-making processes.
Alif foundation is independent, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian and non-governmental organization primarily working on promoting basic education, Human Rights, to empower Women, and strengthening the public health system in Federally Tribal Administered Areas (FATA) of Pakistan.
